Interesting how men gave a simplistic way of looking at life and living it…which I admire by the way…
A woman’s morning routing would be more like…wake up, shower, skin and body routine, staring at the closet to combine and decide what to wear, lemon water or celery juice, preparing and having breakfast, exercise a bit, make up and hair doing…before starting to set up for writing or deep work…
However all those steps usually lead to writing inspiration…
But life always gets in the middle…which also becomes a basis for inspiration…
Writing is usually less robotic and more inspirational…but your method is definitely a good foundation to stay on track…thanks for sharing it!
My goal for now is to write an article every week. Your tips would come handy. From here, maybe 2 articles per week. Who knows, I might join your group of an article every day, sooner than later.
Ps. As a wife, mother, 24 hour per day clinic owner, I have had to acknowledge and accept that there will be time to write more after the kids leave home in 3 and 5 years time.
For now, my routine as a busy Mum is:
- Wake up 04h45
- HIIT session by 05h00
- Swim in the sea by 05h45
- Coffee and sunrise prayer 06h00
- Breakfast and school prep with kids (I don't eat breakfast)
- 07h00-07h20 write & respond
- 07h20-07h45 get ready for work while listening to a podcast, head to work for 08h00 for a morning meeting and clinic patients
I write all this to you because there must be parents out there trying to carve out their time around their 9-5 job - one of my Superhero powers is using 15 minute segments. Like I tell my staff, 15 minutes can save a life.
I don’t know I agree with one note a day and like and reply to comments only in terms of engagement …. while focusing on posts… The reason for that is because discovery is made via notes. Your posts are read by your subscribers only (hopefully) And then there’s the issue of knowing your niche from the very beginning… you may have it already, but I for instance, have always discovered it over time, writing… But I agree about doing the important thing first! This is a game changer!

Hi Derek,
I hope you are well. Greetings from cloudy and rainy Madagascar.
I really liked this post, ,thanks.
Kind regards,
Jane
I like how you turn a set of tasks into a routine whil batching admin tasks to keep distraction away, Derek
Great tips. I lan to put some of these to use.
Great article.
Your routine differs a lot from someone with 9-5 job, especially 2 deep work sessions per day. But I get it, time is scarcirty and same for everyone.
Some sound advice 🤝
Your structured approach offers a solid foundation to stay focused and for that, I thank you.
